Athena Rapid Response Innovation Lab (RRIL): From its launch in 2016, Athena RRIL provides tools and training at the point of need.  With the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020 as a memorable example, the team at Athena RRIL has harnessed the wisdom of a collective of makers to make face shields for first responders, designed a more effective face covering, and utilized cutting-edge tools like 3-D printing and vaccuum-forming to scale production of effective face coverings to thousands of units.
